Mrs. Nellie Mae Linkous, age 77, died Wednesday, April 10, 1991, in Lewis Gale Hospital. She was a native of Montgomery County and a daughter of the late, Ezra B. and Josie Sheppard Wheeling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton E. Linkous; two sons, H. B. Linkous and Odell Linkous; a stepson, Edgar Linkous. Survivors include three sons, Harry A. Linkous, Radford; Allen M. Linkous, Blacksburg; Carl N. Linkous, Salem; seven daughters, Mattie J. Orange, Christiansburg; Dolly L. Whitlock, Blacksburg; Cecile M. Fugate, Tenn.; Mary L. Custer, Blacksburg; Gladys L. McCoy, Blacksburg; Hilda Montgomery, Newport; Thelma A. Clyburn, Salem; three sisters, Vivian Stitt, Bristol, Tenn.; Beatrice Turns, Salem; Elizabeth Hall, Martinsville; one brother, Odell Wheeling, Salem; twenty-five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Sunday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Hoy-McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, Blacksburg. The Rev. Jerry Shepherd and the Rev. Ira Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Belmont Cemetery, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Hoy-McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg.
