\ LAFFS: Rob Haney headlines the Roanoke Comedy Club tonight and Saturday night at 8:30 and 11. He'll share the bill with Chip Chinnery and emcee Barry Morris. The club is upstairs from Charley's on the Market, a restaurant in downtown Roanoke.

HOT BATH: Call it a carnival, a concert in the park or both, but Bath County will be hopping on Saturday as it celebrate's its own 200th birthday and the 100th anniversary of Ingalls family ownership of The Homestead Resort.
Activities begin with an 11 o'clock concert by the Bath County High School Concert Band at Cottage Row on The Homestead's grounds. The concert will be repeated at 1:30 that afternoon.
Between times and through the afternoon, children's entertainment - clowns, jugglers, face-painters and the like - will be on hand both at the resort and in Hot Springs.

\ JAZZ: Secrets, a Richmond fusion band, will play Saturday night at 9 at the Ellington Fellowship Playhouse in Lynchburg.

\ VOCALISTS: American composers Leonard Bernstein and Aaron Copland will be given their due by the Roanoke College Choir on Saturday afternoon at 4 at Smoyer Gallery of Olin Hall at the college in Salem. Selections by Mozart and the Roanoke premiere of Daniel Pinkham's "Festival Jubilate," which celebrates the college's 150th anniversary, also will be featured.
The Alleghany Highlands Chorale will present the Easter portion of Handel's "Messiah," as well as selections from "The Marriage of Figaro" when it performs Saturday night at 7:30 at First Presbyterian Church in Covington. Tickets are $5 at the door.
\ TAKES BRASS: The Budapest Brass Quintet will present light and serious brass music in its concert Wednesday night at 8 in Roanoke College's Olin Theater. The Roanoke Valley Chamber Music Society is the sponsor. Tickets are $10.
