EARNINGS OF MEDIA COMPANY DECLINE

Media General Inc., a Richmond-based media company, on Thursday said net income for the period that ended March 31 was $2.4 million, down $300,000, or 1 cent per share, from the same quarter in 1990. Revenues for the first quarter in 1991 were $145.5 million, down 1.7 percent compared with revenues of $148 million in the previous year.

Media General publishes daily and Sunday newspapers in Richmond, Tampa, Fla., and Winston-Salem, N.C., and operates television stations in Tampa and Jacksonville, Fla., and Charleston, S.C. - Associated Press
