FLEMING ARTIST WINS FIRST PLACE IN HIGH SCHOOL SHOW

Chris Terrell of William Fleming High School won first place in this year's Roanoke Art Commission High School Art Exhibit, which is in the Harrison Museum of African American Culture.

The second-place winner was David Grant of Blacksburg High School.

Honorable mention went to Debbie Grant of Salem High School; Rochelle Johnson of Christiansburg High School; Yuki Mizuto of Blacksburg High School; Mark Brown of Patrick Henry High School; Jen Hensley and Matt Brown of Jefferson Forest High School; and Chrissy Permenter, Andy Horner, Barbara Kopeloff and Maura Flynn, all of Cave Spring High School.

The show includes 85 works by students from 14 high schools in the Roanoke Valley and contiguous divisions. It will continue through May 3 at the Harrison Museum, which is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and (through May 6) Saturdays from 2 to 5 p.m.
