K OF C FUND DRIVE FOR RETARDED BEGINS

The local Father Fox Council will join Knights of Columbus councils throughout Virginia in their annual KOVAR (Knights of Virginia Assistance for the Retarded) fund drive today and Saturday.

Council members and volunteers will accept donations in front of various businesses in Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Dublin and Radford.

Proceeds will be distributed by KOVAR Inc. in the form of grants to organizations working with the retarded, such as the New River Valley Agency for the Mentally Retarded, New River Valley Workshop, Giles County Association for Retarded Children and the Very Special Arts Program for the Disabled at Radford University.
