ENTRIES BEING TAKEN FOR FESTIVAL PARADE

Entries are now being accepted for Roanoke's Festival in the Park fifth annual Children's Parade on May 26.

Children under the age of 18 are asked to create their own version of a miniature parade float and dress in costume for the event.

The parade will begin at 4 p.m. at the old IBM building downtown, continue down Jefferson Street and end at Colonial Plaza.

Shoebox floats will also be featured in the parade. Children will construct these floats in workshops held May 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Smith Park and May 26 from noon to 3 p.m. at Elmwood Park.
