Virginia Hot Spring Inc., owner of The Homestead resort, said Friday it has agreed to sell its Virginia Hot Springs Telephone Co. subsidiary to Telephone and Data Systems Inc. of Chicago. Terms of the sale were not disclosed. The transaction is subject to execution of a definitive agreement and approval of regulatory agencies, the companies said. The telephone system, with 1,700 access lines, would be renamed after the sale.
Telephone and Data Systems operates about 80 telephone systems in 28 states with a total of 297,000 access lines. It also has cellular telephone and radio paging operations.
