SMITH SCORES 5 GOALS IN ROANOKE VICTORY

Brett Smith had five goals and an assist to power Roanoke to a 10-8 Old Dominion Athletic Conference men's lacrosse victory over Hampden-Sydney on Saturday.

The Maroons (6-5, 4-1), ranked 12th in NCAA Division III, shut out the 13th-ranked Tigers (7-4, 4-2) in the fourth period while scoring twice to pull away from an 8-8 tie.

Roanoke goalie Steve Mason had 18 saves.
