KAYKERS TO CHALLENGE NEW RIVER AT MCCOY

Kaykers are scheduled to challenge the rapids of the New River at McCoy April 27 during the fourth annual New River Kayak Rodeo.

Sponsored by the Roanoke County Parks and Recreation Department and Back County Ski and Sport, the event will have competition in two classes. First place prize in the pro class is a Pirouette kayak from Dagger.

Competition is scheduled for 2 to 5 p.m., with practice and warm ups from noon to 2 p.m. Early registration is recommended. The fee is $12.
