MACFARLANE IS PREFERRED OVER EMICK

THE ARTICLE April 2, "Macfarlane howls over redistricting," tells of the four Democratic precincts taken from Sen. Granger Macfarlane and reassigned to Sen. "Buzz" Emick.

I live in the southern portion of Botetourt County and am represented by Sen. Emick. I would be grateful to have Sen. Macfarlane represent this district. Unlike Emick, Macfarlane has a genuine concern for the people who voted him into office. Emick cares only for his own personal agenda and not about the people he represents.

In response to Sen. Joe Gartlan's describing Macfarlane as a "world-class meddler" and "super klutz," the citizens of this state would be better served if we elected and supported more senators such as Granger Macfarlane. TROY V. BLANKENSHIP JR. TROUTVILLE
