William Randolph Patterson of Vinton died Friday evening in a local hospital. He was retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of Campbell Masonic Lodge of Altavista and Rainbow Forest Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Jean B. Patterson; five children, Carolyn Sue Patterson, Newport News; Gerald Randolph Patterson, Kernersville, N.C.; Penelope P. Haynes, Roanoke; Melinda P. Palmer, Virginia Beach; Daniel Patrick Patterson, Mechanicsville; a brother, L.A. Patterson, Staunton; sisters, Nellie P. Morris, New Hope; Dorothy P. Snyder, Winter Park, Fla.; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 15, 1991, with the Rev. Rick L. Via and the Rev. Steve R. Witt officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday.
