Venson Oliphant, Sr., age 72, of 827 Grayson Ave., N. W., passed away at his home on Saturday. He was a former teacher in the Roanoke City Schools and retired founder and owner of the Star City Steam Cleaning, Inc. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Diane Harris, Mrs. Susan Young, both of Roanoke; Mrs. Dorindo Williams of Williamsburg, Va.; and Ms. Lisa Oliphant, stationed in Saudia Arabia; three sons, Venson Oliphant, Jr., and Stephen Oliphant, both of Richmond; and Reginald Oliphant of Roanoke; thirteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Reatha Shaw, Savannah, Ga.; and Mrs. Juanita Parker, Wadley, Ga.; and other relatives.
