Emerson E. Shrewsberry, age 80, of Roanoke died Saturday at Friendship Manor Convalescent Center. He was retired from the United Mine Workers in West Virginia. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Madge V. (Nell) Shrewsberry; one brother, Conway Shrewsberry, Richmond, Calif.; four sisters, Ethel King, Princeton, W.Va.; Marie Burrell, Bluefield, W.Va.; Hazel Lukach, Advance, N.C.; Ann Donahue, Roanoke; also a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the graveside in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Frank G. Blevins officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at Oakey's Roanoke.
