OBIT-SUMMERFIELD, C.

Carl W. Summerfield, age 94, of Roanoke, died Sunday, April 14, 1991. He retired from the Norfolk Southern Railway and was a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wives, Clara G. Summerfield and Clyde W. Summerfield and also a daughter, Elizabeth S. Linkenhoker. Surviving are one granddaughter, Leigh S. Linkenhoker; son-in-law, Ervin D. Linkenhoker, both of Portsmouth, Ohio; stepdaughters, Faye W. Ivanhoe of Roanoke; June W. Taylor of Pittsburg, Pa.; Joye W. Biar of Bluefield, W.Va.; stepson, Dr. Ben F. Wade of Lakeland, Fla.; one brother, James Summerfield of Fayetteville, W.Va. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Douglas B. Paysour officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Burial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel after 7:00 p.m. Monday.
