CARDIAC-RISK TESTING STARTS IN RADFORD

Radford Community Hospital and HeartNet of the Virginias are sponsoring the Heart Profile, a cardiac-risk assessment that continues throughout April.

The assessment is designed to increase awareness of heart disease and its risk factors and explain how to reduce the risk.

The profile is scheduled today at the Wellness and Fitness Center in Radford, April 23 at the Bank of Floyd in Floyd, and April 30 in Christiansburg at the National Guard Armory.

The program consists of a blood lipid profile screening. Blood pressures and pulse rates will be taken and there will be a computerized test that combines family history and habits with the screening results to determine a person's overall risk for heart disease. Participants will receive personalized reports and reference wallet cards that contain their medical information. The cost is $18 per person.
