COLOR-COORDINATED ROBBER HOLDS UP FIRST NATIONAL BANK

A gunman dressed all in beige, including the paper bag over his head, robbed The First National Bank of Christiansburg's Hills branch Monday and escaped on foot.

Besides the bag with eye holes cut out, the robber wore matching beige jacket, gloves, shoes and pants, said Christiansburg Police Lt. Doug Marrs. The bag was topped with a beige sailor's hat with the brim turned down.

The man cocked a gun at a teller and ordered everyone to keep their hands up where he could see them. He fled about 1:15 p.m. with an undisclosed amount of money, Marrs said.

Police describe the man as white, about 5-foot-7, slim to medium build, possibly in his mid to late 20s. Anyone with information should contact the Christiansburg Police Department at (703) 382-3131.
