GRADUATES TO HEAR ETHICS PANEL CHIEF

Robert Myers, president of the Carnegie Council on Ethics and International Affairs in New York City, will address Roanoke College graduates at commencement exercises on May 4.

His address is titled "Setting Your Moral Compass."

About 325 students will be awarded degrees at 2:30 p.m.

Myers has served as president of the council since 1980. He was the publisher of The New Republic magazine from 1968 to 1979 and was a co-founder of The Washingtonian.

From 1949 to 1962, Myers served in Asia with the U.S. Department of Army and the State Department. In 1962, he was named deputy chief of the Far East Division of the Central Intelligence Agency. He was awarded the Intelligence Medal upon his resignation in 1965.

A baccalaureate service will be held at 11 a.m. on May 4 in the Bast Center. In case of bad weather, commencement exercises also will be held in the Bast Center.
