STAUNTON MAN INDICTED IN FATHER-IN-LAW'S DEATH

A grand jury Monday indicted Robert Clinton Asbury in the 1988 slaying of his father-in-law, whose body was discovered in February in a wood-and-concrete crypt in the basement of his house.

Asbury, 31, was indicted on first-degree murder and firearms charges in the September 1988 slaying of Raymond O. Fauber, 63.

Fauber's wife, Margaret, faces numerous forgery charges for allegedly forging her husband's signatures on checks. She also is charged as an accessory after the fact in the killing of her husband.
