Martin, Claude D., Sr. Claude D. (Todd) Martin Sr., age 87, died Monday,
April 15, 1991, in the Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion. He was a
retired carpenter and a member of the Chilhowie Baptist Church . He is
survived by two sons, Charles B. Martin and Claude Douglas Martin Jr., both of
Chilhowie; three daughters, Mrs. Eli (Fannie) Barker and Mrs. Norma Neitch,
both of Marion; Mrs. Charles E. (Dorothy) Glovens, Chilhowie; three sisters,
Mrs. Sidney (Katheryn) Everett and Mrs. C. I. (Polly) Bartley, both of Salem;
Mrs. Ray (Ruth) Carter, Marion; also thirteen grandchildren, sixteen
great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will
be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel with
the Rev. Charles E. Blevins and the Rev. Frank Branson officiating. Burial
will follow in the St. James Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and
great-grandsons. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Tuesday at the Williams Funeral Home.
