MOTHER IS CHARGED WITH CAPITAL MURDER

Sandra Waldie Moneymaker, 36, was charged Monday at Halifax-South Boston Community Hospital, where she is recovering from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound to the abdomen.

In an affidavit filed last week, a Halifax police investigator wrote that Moneymaker admitted shooting her two sons, William, 16, and David Lee, 8, as they slept on the morning of April 5.

Also in the affidavit was a statement made by Moneymaker's husband that she was taking the anti-depressant drug Prozac at the time of the slayings.
