The woman said she was walking to a nightclub about 11:30 p.m. when a man in his 20s approached her and asked if he could buy her a drink, city police said today.
As they walked in the 1100 block of Loudon Avenue, the man grabbed her by the neck, forced her to the ground and sodomized her, the woman told police.
The woman then pulled a large hunting knife from her purse and stabbed the man three times in the right leg.
The man jumped into a nearby car and fled, and has not been located by police. A passing couple stopped to help the woman, who was treated at Community Hospital for cuts and bruises.
Police found evidence of a struggle at 1127 Loudon Ave., a vacant home. The woman's hairpiece and one of her earrings were found on the front porch of the home, police said.
