OBIT SURRATT, J.

Julius Buford Surratt, age 87, passed away Monday evening at his home. He was born February 22, 1904 in Carroll County, Va. to the late Alfred P. Surratt and Mary Ellen Ogle. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Glady Marshall Surratt, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Delena and Joel Hill, Galax; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Gale and Randall Caudill, Galax; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Alan and Sharon Hill, Martinsville; great-granddaughter, Kimberly Caudill, Galax; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning, April 18, at 11:00 a.m. in the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with the Rev. Pastor Michael A. Collins officiating. Interment to follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady in charge of arrangements.
