SLAYING SUSPECT WAS TREATING DEPRESSION

A woman charged with capital murder in the slaying of her two sons was taking the anti-depression drug Prozac, her husband said.

Sandra Waldie Moneymaker, 36, was charged with two counts of capital murder Monday, in addition to three counts of using a firearm in a felony, said Halifax Sheriff Woody Bane.

A Halifax police investigator wrote in an affidavit filed last week that Moneymaker admitted shooting her two sons, William, 16, and David Lee, 8, as they slept on the morning of April 5.

Two recent medical journal articles have suggested that Prozac may make certain patients more prone to suicidal behavior. - Associated Press
