The project still requires approval from the county Board of Zoning Appeals.
Corpac, a Roanoke mail-order company, wants to move to a 125,000-square-foot warehouse on 145 vacant acres along U.S. 460. Corpac also would be able to develop buildings on the site for use by other companies.
The commission's unanimous recommendation Tuesday night came only after members agreed to add a requirement that any new company that decided to move into the park undergo consideration at that time by the Board of Zoning Appeals.
Corpac, which also functions as Direct Marketing of Virginia Inc. and as U.S.A. Buyers Network, has sold a variety of low-priced items through ads in Sunday newspaper supplements since opening in 1987.
