SWARMING BEES FORCE WORKERS TO BUZZ OFF

An active nest of bees caused a little problem for city workers along Main Street in Roanoke on Tuesday afternoon.

The bees, which were swarming around a tree near Main Street and Hamilton Avenue Southwest, forced city workers to abandon a sidewalk improvements project nearby. The swarm also forced the rerouting of one school bus stop.

City officials at the scene reported that nobody had been stung and that the nest would be exterminated early this morning.
