STOP SUBSIDIZING TOBACCO INDUSTRY

THE ULTIMATE state and federal obscenity is for governments to dole out tax dollars to subsidize the tobacco industry. Tobacco causes 360,000 deaths in the United States yearly, as well as untold thousands abroad, because of our exports overseas.

Citizens should petition their legislators to cease using our tax money for a substance that causes major health problems. DORIS G. WALLACE ROANOKE
