I was under the impression that in this century, women and men are considered equals. The thought that women would be denied the right to enter a publicly funded institution never crossed my mind.
In the eyes of our government, are all persons created equal? Does the government say that individuals will not be discriminated against because of race, sex, religion, or national origin? Have my teachers misguided me about these basic principles of our government?
I believe that any woman would be insane to want to attend VMI, with the attitude they have toward women; however, she should have the right. MELISSA K. GREEN ROANOKE
