ARK. SENATOR RECOVERING

Sen. David Pryor, D-Ark., remained in fair condition today at George Washington University Hospital, where he is recovering from a heart attack.

The 56-year-old lawmaker, who is serving his third Senate term, was stricken early Tuesday at his home.

Pryor was "doing very well," according to a written statement released by his office. It said he underwent an angiogram test, but results were not immediately available.

President Bush telephoned Pryor on Tuesday afternoon, the senator's office said. It said Pryor told the president, "I'm out of the woods, but I still need some rest."
