Arthur Lloyd Crawford, age 70, of Narrows, died Tuesday evening in a Pearisburg Hospital. He was born at Glen White, W.Va., on July 29, 1920, and was the son of the late William G. and Sarah Elizabeth Brackens Crawford. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Narrows where he was a member of the Men's Bible Class, a Deacon, a member of the Christian Men's Fellowship. He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post #68 and the Veterans of Foreign War Post #6000, both of Narrows. He was a retired employee of the Hoechst/Celanese Fibers Company Plant at Narrows. He was a retired member of the Narrows Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Emaline Buckland Crawford, Narrows; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Valerie Crawford, Blacksburg, Va.; William A. Crawford, Narrows, Va.; one daughter, Cynthia D. Crawford, Blacksburg, Va.; four brothers, Wilson Crawford, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Woodrow Crawford, Glen Bernie, Md.; Paul Crawford, Roanoke, Va.; Eugene Crawford, Nashville, Tenn.; three sisters, Mrs. Gladys C. Caudill, Narrows; Mrs. Mary Lou Scarbro, Fort Myers, Fla.; Mrs. Naomi Cunningham, Slidell, La.; three grandchildren, Kimberly R. Crawford, Robert Lloyd Crawford, Mitchell Lloyd Crawford, all of Blacksburg. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Narrows with the Rev. Jack E. Musick officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows with graveside rites conducted by the Giles County American Legion Post and the V.F.W. Post #6000. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
