VMI LOSES SLUGFEST TO RICHMOND 8-4

Mike Petusky hit a grand slam in a five-run sixth inning as Richmond defeated VMI 8-4 in a non-conference college baseball game Wednesday.

In a game the featured four home runs, the Spiders (23-12) got more out of theirs by hitting them with runners on. In addition to Petusky's slam, Tom Scioscia hit a two-run inside-the-park homer in the eighth.

VMI also had two home runs, but solo shots by Raymond Flowers and Glen Buck. The Keydets (2-29-1) outhit Richmond 10-6.
