STOP BEING UNCARING, GREEDY

I READ with interest the news article April 13 about Cindy King and other handicapped people having to pay $1.50 to ride in a van equipped for handicapped people.

I would just like to know: When are the people, not only in the city of Roanoke but all over America, going to stop being so uncaring and greedy, and take time to help the handicapped and homeless people without always thinking of the almighty dollar?

So what if we have to make a few concessions or raise taxes a few dollars? Any one of us could be disabled or homeless tomorrow. When are we going to stop and help our fellow man? I urge everyone to talk to your council members, congressman, senators, whoever may help, because one day, it could be you! CECIL W. GIBSON TROUTVILLE
