A FAMILY SPIRITUAL RETREAT is scheduled May 24-26 at Camp Bethel in Botetourt County. Mary Jessup, a member of the religion faculty at Springfield College in Illinois, will be the leader. Jessup will speak at the opening Friday night program at 8:30 and the following day at 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. The Memorial Day weekend retreat, an annual cooperative project of Churches of the Brethren, is open by advance registration to others. \ FIRST WESLEYAN CHURCH, 3706 Peters Creek Road N.W., has scheduled its annual Festival of Missions Friday through Sunday. JoAn Drury, general director of Wesleyan Women International, will be the keynote speaker. Another guest will be Shirley Duncan, director of development at Hephzibah Childrens' Home in Macon, Ga. Services will be Friday at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. For reservations for a Saturday dinner at 6:30 p.m., call 563-4481.

\ PRICE MEMORIAL AFRICAN METHODIST EPISCOPAL ZION CHURCH, 506 15th St. N.W., has scheduled a special service April 26 at 7:30 p.m. Bishop Ruben L. Speaks, spiritual leader of AMEZ congregations in several states, will preach.

\ FOCUS ON THE FAMILY, a Christian video child guidance series featuring Dr. James Dobson, is in being shown at Southview United Methodist Church, 3539 Peters Creek Road N.W. Sessions are Sunday nights at 7 through May 19. "Sex and the Family" is Sunday's topic. Sessions are free, and a nursery is available.

\ FAITH ALLIANCE CHURCH, 7505 Barrens Road, will present gospel recording artist Pamela Deuel Hart tonight at 7. Especially for women, the program of music and Christian testimony is free. An offering will be taken.

\ BUCHANAN BAPTIST CHURCH will send eight adults to Appalachia for a week beginning July 27. The mission team will conduct a vacation Bible school at the Roda Baptist Mission and will lead revival services in the evening. Church members are trying to raise $1,100 needed for the trip to the low-income area.

\ SALEM CAMP MEETING, an annual event for more than 90 years, will take place Aug. 17-25 at the tabernacle at 208 Third St. The Rev. Raymond Powers of Blacksburg, president of the sponsoring board, said veteran director Earl T. Gentry, now living in Louisiana, expects to manage the event this year.
