They are: Stan Parker of Madison Middle School for Roanoke middle schools; Dave Schuler of Northside Junior High for the Roanoke Valley Junior High League; George Miller of William Fleming High for the Roanoke Valley District; and Otis Timberlake of James River for the Pioneer District.
Members of the association voted on the honorees and based their selections on coaching ability, sportsmanship and achievement, according to Commissioner Larry Hall.
Hall said the association supplied officials for 45 schools in nine different districts. The group had more members work state tournaments this year than any other in the state.
Roanoke-area officials who worked state events are: Pete Minton and Mike Gibson, Group A; Stan Parker and Greg Deaton, Group AA; and Parker, Hall, and Mike Winston, Group AAA. Rick Schilling worked his second NCAA finals in Iowa. Minton and Winston also worked post-season collegiate events.
The group also made a donation to the Terry Plunk Memorial Scholarship Fund at William Byrd.
