TRUCK SAFETY ROADEO TO TEST DRIVERS' SKILLS

The Safety Council of Southwest Virginia will sponsor its annual Truck Safety Roadeo May 3 and 4 at the Salem Civic Center.

Truck drivers in several categories will test their skills on an obstacle course, with the $50 entry fee to benefit the Safety Council.

The Department of Motor Vehicles will have its mobile testing unit at the site May 3 from noon-5 p.m. and May 4 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Anyone needing to renew a Commercial Drivers License or other drivers license may do so at this time.

Spectators are welcome at the May 4 session. There is no admission charge. For more information, call 344-4676.
