CHRISTIANSBURG - Scott Drew Wilson, age 29, of 1027 Delta Lane, Christiansburg, died April 14, 1991, in Great Lakes Naval Hospital, Chicago, Illinois. He was a 12-year Navy veteran and served in the Persian Gulf and Red Sea Naval Operations. He was Chief Boatswain's Mate (SW) aboard the Guided Missile Cruiser U.S.S. Ticonderoga (CG-47). He received 2 Navy Achievement Medals, 1 Meritorious Unit Commendation, 1 Battle Excellence Ribbon, 2 Good Conduct Medals, 1 Navy Expeditionary Medal, 1 Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, 1 National Defense Medal, 4 Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, 2 Coast Guard Special Operation Ribbons, 1 Rifle Sharpshooter Medal, 1 Pistol Sharpshooter Medal, and Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist Breast Insignia. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Louis M. and Mary Ann Wilson, Richmond; his mother, Mrs. Charlesanna Viola Drew, Portsmouth; three brothers, Steven L. Garrett, Salem; David B. Wilson, Salem; Marc I. Wilson, Christiansburg. Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held from St. Andrew's Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, with the Father Donald H. LeMay officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, with military honors by the United States Navy. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday.
