HATCHER, GLENWOOD J.

BEDFORD - Glenwood Johnson Hatcher, age 61, of Route 7, died Wednesday, April 17, 1991, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Bedford County on September 25. 1929, a son of the late Oscar Janney Hatcher and Eddie Hall Key Hatcher. He attended Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a retired twenty year employee of the Virginia Department of Transportation. He is survived by a brother, O. Jack Hatcher of Montgomery, Ala.; three sisters, Nell H. Grier of Columbus, Ga.; Lucille H. Waldron of Bedford: and Nancy H. Lambert of Roanoke; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Ronald A. Perkins and the Rev. Pat B. Tony officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Bedford Life Saving Crew. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home.
