PERFORMANCE BY CHORUS, ORCHESTRA SCHEDULED

The Highland Camerata will sing Mozart's "Coronation Mass" with the Mid-Atlantic Chamber Orchestra in an April 28 concert at Carroll County High School at 4 p.m.

The orchestra is based in Northern Virginia and performs throughout Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland.

The Camerata, now in its 13th year, is a 54-voice regional chorus based at Brush Creek Hall near Independence. Originally a madrigal group, it now performs a variety of vocal pieces each year.

The orchestra will also play Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings and Shostakovich's Concerto No. 1 for Piano, Trumpet and Strings.

Tickets are $5 and $3, and for sale at the Fashion Shoppe and Chamber of Commerce in Galax; Blue Ridge Drug, Nuckolls Drug and Carroll News in Hillsville; Walters Drug in Independence; Blue Ridge Books in Wytheville, and Village Shoe-Inn in Sparta, N.C. - Southwest bureau
