Lizzie Estelle Tuck, age 87 of Route 1, passed away Thursday, April 18, 1991 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born December 25, 1903 in Pittsylvania County, a daughter the late George Thomas Tuck and Cora Huffmond Tuck. She was preceeded in death by her husband, William A. Tuck; a son, Lt. Col. Bobby Lee Tuck; and a daughter, Rachel T. Brooks. She was a member of the Radford Baptist Church, Moneta, and taught Sunday School for more than 67 years. She also organized the W.M.U. there. In her later years she wrote two hymns, "The Voice of Jesus Calls Us" and "Open Bibles". She helped organize the Senior Citizens Groups in both Bedford and Moneta and served on the Regional Advisory Board for the Senior Citizens. She and her husband sold Rawleigh Products in Bedford County for many years. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon and Phyllis Tuck, Bedford; Danny and Susan Tuck, Perkasie, Pa.; one daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Dale Stiff, Moneta; one brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Doris Tuck, Penhook; four sisters, Lota T. Tuck and Hattie T. Brooks, both of Vinton, Effie T. Meador, Roanoke; and Lucille T. Price, Hampton. Ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 20, 1991 at 11:00 a.m. from the Radford Baptist Church, Moneta, by the Rev. Jim Carroll, Rev. Ted Smith, Jr. and Rev. Tommy Floyd. Interment will be in the Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Updike Funeral Home, Bedford, Those wishing to make memorials should consider the building fund at Radford Baptist Church.
