Mary Frances Fix Swink, age 84, died Friday, April 19, 1991, in Stonewall Jackson Hospital. She was born January 13, 1907, in Rockbridge County. She was the daughter of the late Stuart Madison and Ella Lam Fix. She attended the Blue Ridge Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, J. Adam Swink of Lexington; one daughter, Frances VanDerVeer of Bedford, Va.; one son, Milton VanDerVeer of Lexington; one stepdaughter, Mary Frances Arthur of Lexington; two stepsons, Joseph Henry Swink of Salem; James E. Swink of Lexington; two grandchildren, Clifford Lee VanDerVeer and Michael Wayne VanDerVeer, both of Lexington; seven stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. from the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. Art Brumit and Rev. H. Wray Sherman officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the Harrison Funeral Home.
