"He's very to himself," Alexander's mother, Bonita Wallace, said. "I think I know because he's my son. I don't know because he's told me."
Alexander, a McDonald's and first-team Parade All-American, will make an announcement today at 2 p.m. in his native Waynesboro. He has narrowed his choices to UVa and Michigan.
"First, it was Georgia Tech and Virginia," Alexander's mother said. "Then, it was Arizona and Virginia. Then, it was Michigan and Virginia. What does that tell you?"
Alexander, a 6-foot-1 point guard, averaged 15.9 points and 9.4 rebounds this year for Oak Hill, which finished 27-1 and was ranked No. 3 in the country. He was named Mr. Basketball in the state by the Roanoke Times & World-News.
Mrs. Wallace has tried to remain neutral, but it is no secret she would like her son to play for the Cavaliers.
Alexander eliminated Michigan at one point, but decided to reconsider the Wolverines after playing with several of Michigan's signees in all-star games.
