DICKERSON, LYNN C.

Lynn C. Dickerson, 95, a resident of Henrico County, Virginia, died Friday, April 19, 1991. Dr. Dickerson was pastor of Baptist churches in Virginia at Pulaski, Radford, Harrisonburg, and Roanoke, and in West Virginia at Alderson. He was a graduate and trustee emeritus of the University of Richmond, an alumnus of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a past district governor of Rotary International. The University of Richmond awarded him the degree of Doctor of Divinity in 1954. His first wife, Ruth Price Dickerson, and his second wife, Clara Hall Dickerson, preceded him in death. He is survived by one brother, Cameron B. Dickerson; one sister, Myrtle Winfield; two sons, Lynn C. Dickerson II and Park Price Dickerson; one stepson, Robert A. Hall; three granddaughters, one grandson, one stepgrandson, and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive visitors from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, at Oakey's North Chapel, 6732 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, Va. Funeral services will be held at the chapel on Tuesday, April 23, 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Rolen C. Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery on Route 11 in Botetourt County approximately 5 miles north of Troutville. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Endowment for the Lynn C. Dickerson Prize in Religion, University of Richmond, Richmond, Va., 23173.
