ROANOKERS PLACE IN BENEFIT `BIATHLUNG'

Several Roanoke athletes placed well Saturday in the American Lung Association "Biathlung," consisting of a 10-kilometer (6.2-mile) run followed by a 48K (30-mile) bike ride.

Jim Deyerle place third overall in the men's division in a time of 1 hour, 58 minutes, 14 seconds. Among women, Carol Deyerle was second overall in 2:33:31 and Denise Talusso was third overall in 2:40:10.

Other Roanoke men placing in their respective age groups: Matt Nasta won the 18-25 age group in 2:33, Eric Polfelt won the 26-35 group in 1:59, Junis Crowgey was second in the 55-70 group in 3:06 and Artie Levin won the 75-over group in 3:45. - Staff report
