COUNCIL NEEDS A NEW ELEMENT

IN VIEW of the decision by members Bowers, Harvey, Musser and White to allow auto racing at Victory Stadium, I think we need something new on City Council: It's called class. Perhaps we can persuade Dr. Hollingsworth, Rev. Green and Messrs. Coulter and Hall to run in the next election.

Until then, Roanoke can be proud of its new city song: "Red Necks and White Socks and Blue Ribbon Beer." JENNY L. FERGUSON ROANOKE
