SHORT STORY AUTHOR SEAN O'FAOLAIN DIES

Sean O'Faolain, whose beautifully crafted short stories won him a reputation as the "Irish Chekhov," died Saturday in Dublin following a brief illness. He was 91.

O'Faolain wrote more than 20 books during a career that spanned almost 60 years and was working to complete an autobiography at the time of his death.
