ROANOKE WOMEN GET SCARE IN SEASON FINALE

Roanoke's sixth-ranked women's lacrosse team got a scare in the regular-season finale, but held off Cortland State 8-7 on Sunday.

Roanoke (11-2) led 8-4, but Cortland State (5-5) scored three goals in last five minutes. Leigh Budnitz led the Maroons with three goals.

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference tournament starts Friday.
