THURMAN, MARY C.

Mrs. Mary C. Thurman, age 89, died Monday, December 30, 1991 in a local nursing home. She was a widow of Homer Thurman. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. W. J. (Mildred) Layman, Elida, Ohio; Ms. Lealda Angle, Ms. Iris Powell, Mrs. William (Juanita) Stanley, all of Rocky Mount.; Mrs. Eddie Finn, Kernersville, N.C.; three sons, Dewey Thurman, Donald Thurman, Rocky Mount; David Thurman, Callaway; 34 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in Lynch Chapel by Rev. Deroy Campbell and Rev. Richard McDowell. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Friends may call at Lynch Funeral Home after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday where the family will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and other times at the residence of Juanita Stanley. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Flint Hill United Methodist Church.
