`SCUM PIT' NOT LOCATED IN NARROWS
I WOULD like to comment on the article by Ed Shamy ridiculing the open house held by the Narrows sewage treatment plant, which he referred to as the "scum pit." While I can recognize satire, tounge in cheek and facetiousness, I can also recognize meanness of spirit. Responsible journalists do not deride the endeavors of people who try to improve their community. The "scum pit" is not located in Narrows. It is found deep in the souls of people who take pleasure in belittling the efforts of others. KATHY MARTIN NARROWS
