POWEll, CLAUDE A.

Claude A. Powell, age 85 of Roanoke, died Monday in a local hospital. He is survived by his son, James E. Powell, Roanoke; three daughters, Norma Powell, Elliston, Va.; Claudine Powell James, Ferrum, Va.; Mazie Powell Marshall, Lorraine, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Flora Rash, Mazie Coleman, Suzie Atkins, all of Salem. Funeral services will be from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 1992, with the Rev. Jim Patterson officiating. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.
