Wilfred Bennett Custer of Route 1 died Wednesday, January 1, 1992, in the Rocky Mount hospital. Surviving are his wife, Rosa Lee Nichols Custer; his father, Willie Watt Custer, Boones Mill; one daughter and son-in-law, Janet C. and Julius Jamison, Ferrum; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmie L. and Janet G. Custer, Willie Gene and Doris S. Custer, all of Boones Mill; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Clinton Custer and Mr. and Mrs. Roy D. Custer, all of Boones Mill; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lewis Custer, Roanoke; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday in Lynch Chapel, Rocky Mount. Interment will follow in the Custer Family Cemetery. Friends may call at Lynch Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, after 3:00 p.m. Thursday where the family will be from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
