ONCE GOOD, UNIONS GOT OUT OF CONTROL

TIMES HAVE changed. When the unions first came in, we needed them. The factories were really taking advantage of employees. If you didn't do just as the boss said, you would be laid off or fired. You worked 12 hours or more, anything the foreman said, no extra pay.

The union changed that and the employee was really happy. It made everything for employees better and we were satisfied.

Then the unions got out of control. They would call strikes to raise wages, and other things. They didn't figure that when you raised wages too much, the product would have to go up so the company could exist. A little raise would have been OK.

They finally got things so high that 90 percent of all products we buy are foreign-made. Look at the labels. Very few you find are made in the United States, so why are we falling in production? JOHN EWING LEXINGTON
